Clean and Functional

I like the Samsung Brand, since I have owned their cell phones for as long as I remember, yet have never tried one of their appliances. I like the stainless steel exterior, and the interior coating is very easy to wipe down with a damp cloth or sponge. I like the fan and also the under microwave lights, so I can have a dim light on in an otherwise dark kitchen, and don't have to turn on all the kitchen lights. The operating instructions that came with the unit were severely lacking, and everything is learn as I go. I couldn't figure out what some of the buttons meant, and then noticed there were some additional hints pasted inside the microwave door, so I can understand what is what when it comes to using the cooking buttons. I really believe the unit is well built and functional, however, there were two things that stand out as bothering me, and will continue to bother me, because I used them both on my old microwave, and this new Samsung one doesn't have those features. 1. There is no way to turn on and off the turntable. I want to be able to turn the turntable on and off. This continues to be an issue for me after having used the product for a month. 2. After my new microwave was installed there were some fingerprints left on the key pad. I took a paper towel and some water and gently wiped the key pad to remove the fingerprints. However, the fingerprints weren't removed. With a slight more effort, I tried to get the fingerprints off the key pad and noticed that the key pad actually was scratching while using a paper towel. I can't believe that a company would make a key pad that scratches with the wipe of a paper towel. My previous microwave had a key pad that I would wipe down with a plastic scrubber, and it never scratched once. The scratches remain on my keypad, and now I don't use anything more than a wet sponge to wipe the inside and outside of the unit. Overall, the unit is clean, functional and looks great in my kitchen. I have now had the chance to use my microwave and the lack of pre-set buttons is driving me nuts. I have to put in cook times, instead of hitting a single button to add minutes for the cook time.
